EA has released its earnings for its fourth quarter results—net revenue
was $1.281 billion, up one percent as compared with $1.270 billion for the
prior year. Digital revenue is a small but growing part of that..."Our
digital revenue hit a record $115 million over the last twelve months and our
mobile revenue reached $100 million in the past nine months alone,” said Warren
Jenson, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer in the release.
From the conference call EA Mobile brought in $35 million in the quarter, and
took 4 out of the top 5 games in both North America and the UK. It claimed 29
percent marketshare North America and more than 15 percent marketshare in
Europe. As a bit of comparison, advertising revenue (in game advertising,
online etc) brought in $13 million in the quarter. The mobile revenues appeared
to be flat, since EA Mobile brought in $35 million in the third
quarter as well.
