Cellufun, a free-mobile gaming community provider that claims two million people visiting its site each month to download and play games, today announced that it had successfully completed a $3 million in first round funding from Longworth Venture Partners. The funding will be used to develop Cellufun’s product line, increase external marketing efforts and support enhanced sales goals for the company. Nilanjana Bhowmik, a partner at Longworth Venture Partners, will join the company’s board of directors. Cellufun develops its own games and uses WAP banner ads, in-game ads and product placement to generate revenue. It was founded in 2005 and received angel funding from Vaux Les Ventures, which it refered to at the time as Series A funding.
